Announcement on the revision of patent certificate (No. 581)

In accordance with Article 39 and Article 40 of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China , the State Intellectual Property Office has decided to amend the patent certificate. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

For patents with authorization announcement date after June 1, 2024 (including that day), the National Intellectual Property Administration will issue a new version of the patent certificate. The new version of the patent certificate uses the A4 vertical layout and optimizes the layout of the recorded matters.

The old and new versions of patent certificates have the same legal effect. The National Intellectual Property Administration does not provide a replacement service for the old version of the patent certificate that has been issued. For requests to replace or correct patent certificates in accordance with the provisions of Section 1.2, Chapter 9, Part V of the Patent Examination Guidelines, the National Intellectual Property Administration will issue a new version of the patent certificate after June 1, 2024 (inclusive).
